Melvin S. Preyer is a product of Monroe County Schools. After high school, he graduated from Alabama Southern Community College andAuburnUniversity, where he earned a B.S. in Elementary Education. Melvin also earned a M.S. in Elementary Education fromTroyUniversityatMontgomeryand certification in Educational Administration fromAlabamaStateUniversity. Melvin has been employed with the Monroe County Board of Education since 1999 and is currently employed as an Alabama Reading Initiative Reading Coach atMonroevilleMiddle School. Melvin is married to the former Erika Ross ofChoctawCountyand they have one daughter, Carsyn Eman.
